Saida Mirziyoyeva and Wang Yi Discuss Development of Uzbekistan–China Strategic Partnership

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held talks with Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs of the CPC Central Committee. The meeting took place in Beijing on August 26.
The sides discussed further development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China, with particular attention to key areas of bilateral cooperation. The agenda included trade, the economy, investment and cultural ties.
Saida Mirziyoyeva noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to develop and is creating new opportunities for practical cooperation. The sides also considered ways to advance cooperation in priority areas.
The talks also covered current issues on the international agenda. The two sides exchanged views on global developments and discussed opportunities to develop common approaches on issues of mutual interest.
The Chinese side reaffirmed its interest in further strengthening bilateral ties with Uzbekistan. Wang Yi expressed China’s readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan across various areas and enhance coordination between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Saida Mirziyoyeva thanked Wang Yi for the open and substantive exchange of views.
