Saida Mirziyoyeva Discusses New Uzbekistan Projects with DFC and Google

Head of Uzbekistan’s Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva held meetings in New York with representatives of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Google. The talks focused on major joint projects in transport, healthcare, artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
During her meeting with DFC CEO Ben Black, the sides discussed transport and healthcare projects that are already being implemented. Mirziyoyeva reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to further expand cooperation with the corporation.
At a meeting with Google Vice President Karan Bhatia, the sides discussed the possibility of launching YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan. They also addressed broader cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital solutions.
According to Mirziyoyeva, integrating the Uzbek language into Google Cloud Gemini could enable the development of digital services in the native language for government and businesses. The use of BigQuery and Dataplex was also discussed as a way to improve the efficiency of working with large volumes of data.
The talks also covered access to international payment systems. Mirziyoyeva said improvements to legislation on personal data processing and digital payments are creating conditions for their availability in Uzbekistan.
Cooperation with Google also includes international certification opportunities for young people, hackathons and annual internships at company offices for 25 talented students.
“There are enormous opportunities for partnership with the company. There is a lot of work ahead,” Mirziyoyeva said.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. YouTube’s official help materials currently list the countries and regions eligible for the expanded YouTube Partner Program; Uzbekistan is not included in the published list.
