Saida Mirziyoyeva: Uzbekistan-China Strategic Partnership Enters a New Phase

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held talks in Beijing on August 26 with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The meetings focused on bilateral relations, practical cooperation and further development of interparliamentary dialogue.
During the meeting with Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, the sides discussed the development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China. The agenda covered trade, the economy, investment and cultural ties. They also exchanged views on global issues and the possibility of developing common positions.
Mirziyoyeva said that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China “is entering a new phase and opening new horizons.” She thanked Wang Yi for the open and substantive dialogue.
At the meeting with Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the sides discussed strengthening Uzbekistan-China relations and expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
Mirziyoyeva said Uzbekistan values China’s support and is ready to work jointly on concrete projects in transport, trade, education and culture. “Our countries have many common plans, and the key is to implement them consistently,” she said.
During her visit to Beijing, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan also visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China. The museum is dedicated to the history of the CPC and features a permanent exhibition covering the Party’s century-long development.
