Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Jadid's ideas fully harmonise with New Uzbekistan's strategy

An extended session of the Republican Council on Spirituality and Enlightenment has begun under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the President.
The head of state stressed that at present, when Uzbekistan is entering a new, high stage of its development, the country, along with the achievements of Western science, needs mature cadres brought up in the spirit of jadidism and national values like water and air.
"The recent conference held in our capital on "Jadids: ideas of national identity, independence and statehood" aroused great interest and attention of the world scientific and cultural community. A presidential decision will be taken to further expand and raise this kind of initiative to a new level," Mirziyoyev said.
According to the country's leader, it is quite natural that the heritage of enlightened ancestors will serve as a basis for a democratic state based on the rule of law and civil society.
"Whether someone likes it or not, but our people should follow the path indicated by our ancestors-jadids. Because their ideas and programmes are in all respects harmonious and aligned with the strategy of building a New Uzbekistan," the President said.
