On March 3, a meeting on strengthening the country's defense capability was held under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The meeting addressed issues of further strengthening the country's defense potential, ensuring military security, and the implementation of priority tasks identified at the expanded meeting of the Security Council on January 13 of this year.

It was emphasized that tensions and conflicts persist globally, geopolitical competition is intensifying, and the risks of new threats and challenges are growing. In the context of an unstable international situation, when military actions in certain regions are leading to serious humanitarian and economic consequences, strengthening the country's defense capability and ensuring its security is of particular importance.

The Minister of Defense reported on the ongoing work to improve the combat readiness of troops, the operational training of units and subunits, equipping them with modern weapons and equipment, and developing the infrastructure of military-administrative sectors.

Particular attention was paid to studying the best practices of developed countries and combat experience, as well as the implementation of modern approaches to military command and training. Specifically, the need for widespread use of new technologies, including unmanned systems and digital command and control solutions, to enhance troop effectiveness was noted.

Specific tasks were also identified for modernizing and developing the infrastructure of military-administrative sectors, training grounds, educational institutions, and logistics facilities in accordance with modern requirements.

Instructions were given to consistently continue improving the military personnel training system, strengthening research and development, and expanding programs aimed at mastering modern weapons and technologies.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state set objectives for the further development of the Armed Forces and strengthening the country's defense capability.
