Students will be allocated loans for Work and Travel trips

Uzbekistan

Starting May 15, 2025, a new procedure for supporting students participating in international Work and Travel programs will be introduced in Uzbekistan. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 290, students will be able to receive interest-free loans to cover travel expenses to a number of foreign countries.

Students will be allocated loans for Work and Travel trips
The loan is provided to cover the cost of travel, visa, accommodation, and other expenses related to participation in the program. The list of countries includes the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and other EU countries, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

The state will allocate up to 2,000 loans per year - each in the amount of 40 times the basic calculated value (BCV). Applications are accepted through the Centers for Public Services or online through the portal http://my.gov.uz.

The following must be attached to the application:
labor contract with a foreign employer,
documents from the guarantor (if any) confirming the readiness to return the debt in case of non-payment,
visa.

The loan must be repaid within one month after the student returns to Uzbekistan.

At the same time, after the issuance of 2,000 loans during the calendar year, the acceptance of new applications is terminated. Those who did not pass the selection will not be transferred to the list for the next year and will have to apply again.

Important: a loan is an interest-free loan that must be repaid.
