Tashkent International Half Marathon Brings Together More Than 24,000 Participants

The Tashkent International Half Marathon was held in the capital on September 6. Races over 5 km and 21.097 km brought together more than 24,000 participants.
Representatives of the country’s leadership attended the official opening ceremony. They noted that mass sports in Uzbekistan are developing year by year and that events of this kind play an important role in promoting healthy lifestyles among the population.
The competition featured two race formats: a 5 km run and the classic 21.097 km half marathon distance. Winners and medalists were determined in both men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s 5 km race, Eldor Botirov took first place. Ruslan Khadzhiev finished second, while Bekhruz Shavkatov placed third.
In the women’s 5 km race, Alina Khakimova won first place. Maftuna Akhmedova finished second and Kamola Ablaeva took third.
In the men’s 21.097 km half marathon, Andrey Petrov claimed first place. Hasan Mirsoatov finished second, while Bakhtiyor Utkurov took third.
In the women’s half marathon, Marjona Akhmadalieva won the race. Sadafbону Nusratulloyeva finished second, and Arofatkhon Imomalieva placed third.
