Tashkent Named the Safest City in Central Asia
Numbeo data shows that Tashkent recorded the highest safety indicators among all Central Asian cities. Within the CIS, the city also leads, outperforming Nizhny Novgorod (56th), Kazan (72nd), Kaliningrad (78th), and Moscow (99th).

The global safety podium is traditionally dominated by Middle Eastern cities: Abu Dhabi (UAE), Doha (Qatar), and Dubai (UAE). The top ten also include Taipei, Sharjah, Manama, Muscat, while Europe is represented by The Hague, Munich, and Trondheim.

Numbeo experts emphasize that the safety index is a comprehensive indicator, taking into account not only crime statistics, but also the effectiveness of law enforcement, urban infrastructure, and residents’ and tourists’ perceived sense of security. This approach provides an objective picture of the overall quality of the urban environment.
