On April 2, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with executives of Russian companies operating in the country. The main objective was to promptly resolve issues faced by investors.

Representatives of major companies, including Magnit, Wildberries, Promomed, and Siberian Wellness, took part in the discussion.

Key topics included product labeling, VAT refunds, tariff policy, and infrastructure development. Following the meeting, responsible officials were assigned to implement business proposals and improve the investment climate.

Economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia continues to grow steadily. Over the past five years, trade turnover has increased from $5.7 billion to $13 billion, while the number of joint ventures has exceeded 3,200. In 2025, utilized investments amounted to $4.8 billion, and ongoing joint projects in industry, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals are valued at $43.9 billion.

On the same day, the first meeting of the Uzbekistan–Jordan Intergovernmental Commission was held via videoconference, co-chaired by Laziz Kudratov and Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah.

The parties confirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation and noted significant growth potential. Bilateral trade has increased nearly ninefold over the past five years, and a preferential trade agreement is being prepared for signing.

They also discussed перспективные проекты in industrial cooperation, mining, chemicals, agriculture, logistics, and pharmaceuticals. Particular attention was given to transport connectivity, telemedicine development, joint production initiatives, and expanding tourism exchange under a visa-free regime.

The sides emphasized that the outcomes of the meeting will give additional momentum to Uzbekistan–Jordan cooperation.
