Tashkent to Host Central Asian Water Polo Championship

The Central Asian Water Polo Championship for men’s and women’s teams will take place in Tashkent from August 26 to 28. The tournament will bring together 12 teams representing three countries — Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The information was confirmed in reports published on August 26.

The competition will feature six men’s and six women’s teams, covering both major categories of regional water polo.

For Uzbekistan, the championship is part of a series of international competitions in aquatic sports. Earlier in August, an Uzbek water polo team competed at an international tournament in Taraz, Kazakhstan, where it won a silver medal.

The Tashkent championship will run for three days, from August 26 through August 28. The final standings will be determined by the results of the men’s and women’s competitions.
