Today, on December 14, the next reporting Congress of the Uzbekistan Football Association was held. The event was attended by UFA President Abdusalom Azizov and First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Otabek Umarov. During the Congress, the best football players and coaches of the year were recognized.
Yuriy Sarkisyan – Recipient of the “Football Luminary” Award
National football hero, five-time Uzbekistan champion, nine-time silver medalist, two-time Uzbekistan Cup winner, and legend of Fergana’s “Neftchi” team, Yuriy Sarkisyan, who is currently celebrating his 77th birthday, was awarded the “Football Luminary” prize.
MuhammadYusuf Sobirov – “Best Young Footballer of the Year”
MuhammadYusuf Sobirov, who has reliably defended the goal for Uzbekistan's youth teams for several years and showed excellent performances for Sogdiyona this year, was named the “Best Young Footballer of the Year.”
Temur Kapadze – “Best Coach of the Year”
Temur Kapadze, the head coach of Uzbekistan's U23 national team, who secured the team's first-ever Olympic qualification and achieved a historic result, was named the “Best Coach of the Year.”
Abbosbek Fayzullaev – Uzbekistan’s Best Footballer of 2024
He was named the best footballer of the country for the second consecutive year. His contribution to the team and his individual performances were highly valued.
