The Bukhara Oil Refinery will increase production of high-quality fuel
Uzbekistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Bukhara Oil Refinery in the Karaulbazar district and inspected the plant's modernization project.
The refinery is one of the largest fuel producers in the country, employing over 3,200 specialists. In the first nine months of this year, it produced 1.36 million tons of petroleum products worth 12.1 trillion soums. Exports of products and services amounted to $99.5 million. This figure is expected to reach $116 million by the end of the year.
The modernization project presented to the head of state aims to increase raw material processing volumes and expand the capacity for high-octane gasoline production. The total cost of the project is $328 million.
It includes the installation of equipment for naphtha hydrotreating and isomerization. The hydrotreating process reduces the content of sulfur and other impurities in the feedstock. Isomerization increases the octane number of gasoline produced from light crude oil fractions. These processes are important for increasing the production of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, which meet the Euro-5 emission standard.
The project also includes improved processes for separating feedstock into fractions and deep processing of heavy residues. As a result, the annual capacity of the refinery will increase by another 2.5 million tons, reaching 5 million tons. Increased processing volumes and finished product production will strengthen supplies to the domestic market and increase exports.
The President of our country gave instructions on meeting established deadlines and high quality standards during modernization work, integrating the new equipment with existing production processes, and ensuring the sustainable operation of the plant. He also spoke with representatives of foreign companies participating in the project.
