The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan discussed pressing bilateral issues

In Bishkek, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of state sincerely congratulated Pakistan on its upcoming chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
It was particularly noted that the historic visit to Islamabad in February of this year and the high-level meetings held there had elevated relations between the countries to a qualitatively new level.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on further expanding trade, economic, investment, transport, and logistics cooperation.
Particular attention was also paid to the development of interregional cooperation and ties in the humanitarian sphere. In particular, preparations are underway for the Forum of Regions in Khiva this year, and Days of Culture and Cinema of Uzbekistan are planned in Pakistan.
An agreement was reached to adopt a joint roadmap to accelerate the implementation of projects in the textile industry, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and other priority areas.
