Tourism is an important industry, creating numerous jobs with little investment, increasing revenues, and improving the appearance of regions. Tashkent has significant potential in this area.

In particular, a number of projects are being implemented in the Mirzo-Ulugbek District to fully utilize this potential.

The construction and improvement work carried out on O'zbekiston Ovozi Street is a practical example of the special attention paid to the development of tourism and the service sector in our country.

This project was implemented based on the Presidential Resolution "On additional measures to diversify domestic tourism services" dated April 30, 2022.

The project, which was completed in September 2025 and completed after reconstruction, was developed by the Russian firms City Makers and Lyudi Architects.

The street's total length is 2.1 kilometers. It boasts modern infrastructure, including wide pedestrian and bicycle paths and comfortable conditions for residents and tourists.

The area features photo zones for selfies, outdoor sports grounds, portable toilets, family recreation areas, eco-friendly playgrounds for children, and a rope park.

While touring the street, the head of state inspected the buildings renovated in a contemporary style, the well-maintained streets, and the amenities created for the public.

The total cost of the project is 40 billion soums. There are 165 retail outlets operating on the street. 89 businesses have switched to 24/7 operations. In addition, 2,221 new jobs have been created.

The President was also briefed on the work being carried out on Tashkent's tourist and gastronomic streets.

As noted, a total of 26 streets in the capital will be operating 24/7 in 2025. 540 billion soums have been allocated for this purpose. As a result, 1,103 new trade and service facilities have been created, 315 businesses have begun operating 24/7, and 26 foreign brands have launched operations.

This has had a positive impact on economic indicators. The number of users of various street services has increased from 80,000 to 200,000 per day, creating 6,000 jobs.

Plans have been announced for the creation of 18 more new tourist streets this year, the launch of 500 facilities, and the creation of up to 7,000 jobs.

The President of our country gave specific instructions to decision-makers on further increasing the number of gastronomic tourism streets in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, fully utilizing existing opportunities, improving the quality of services, and implementing new investment projects.
