The official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus has concluded. The distinguished guest was seen off at the Minsk airport by President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
During his stay in Minsk, the head of state held talks with his Belarusian counterpart, both in a restricted format and with members of official delegations.
The leaders supported the further development of political dialogue and the strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation. The parties reaffirmed their firm commitment to the long-term development of a multifaceted partnership and discussed new project initiatives in priority areas.
Following the talks, the Presidents signed a Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership Relations. A number of bilateral documents were exchanged in their presence.
In statements to the media, they noted with satisfaction that the current official visit was a historic event in the development of Uzbek-Belarusian relations and marks the beginning of a new chapter in strengthening interstate cooperation.
Upon completion of the official visit, the President of Uzbekistan flew to Tashkent.
