President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan on the sidelines of the Aqaba Process meeting in Astana.
The head of state noted the important role of this platform, created at the initiative of the King of Jordan, which is becoming increasingly important today in the face of growing new threats in the world.
At the meeting, current issues related to expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries were discussed, including the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The progressive dynamics of mutual visits and contacts in recent years were noted with satisfaction. Air travel has been established, a meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission was held, and a Business Council was established.
During the conversation, an agreement was reached on further developing cooperation, in particular strengthening ties in trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Jordan also exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming high-level bilateral events and other agenda items.
