The President of Uzbekistan met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who was making a stop in the capital of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of bilateral relations and their practical implementation were discussed.
As a result of mutual high-level visits, cooperation between our countries has reached a completely new level. Specifically, since the beginning of the year, trade has increased by 15 percent, and the number of joint ventures has reached 50. Active contacts at various levels continue.
Regarding the importance of negotiations with a delegation from the Malaysian corporation Petronas, currently in Uzbekistan, the head of state emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of strategic projects in various economic sectors.
In particular, special attention is paid to promoting projects in the petrochemical, high-tech, agricultural, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical, and other priority areas.
During the conversation, prospects for cooperation in Islamic finance, interregional cooperation, pilgrimage tourism, increasing the number of direct flights, and cultural exchanges were also discussed.
An exchange of views on international and regional issues also took place.
