On June 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, who is in Uzbekistan to attend events as part of Azerbaijani Culture Days, reports Shavkat Mirziyoyev's press service.
At the beginning of the meeting, Adil Karimli conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the Uzbek leader.
The issues of further expanding Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership, including in the priority humanitarian sphere, were discussed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep satisfaction with the intensification of cultural exchange in recent years.
Since the beginning of this year, Uzbekistan's Science and Culture Days, an exhibition, and the premiere of the national ballet "Lazgi" have been successfully held in Baku.
As part of the Azerbaijani Culture Days, which started today, a presentation of the book by the poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli took place. An exhibition, theatre performances, and other events are also planned.
The importance of continuing an intensive dialogue and a rich program of cultural events based on the "roadmap", promoting joint initiatives and projects within international organizations such as UNESCO, the Turkic Council, and the ICESCO, was emphasized.
