The event gathered 548 boxers from 118 countries, with a prize fund of $8.32 million, including payments to winners, coaches and national federations.
Alongside the tournament, Dubai is hosting:
the International Boxing Forum,
the IBA Congress,
and the professional boxing night IBA.Pro 13.
The opening ceremony took place on 2 December at Dubai Tennis Arena, featuring performances by Rick Ross, Egor Kreed, Benedetta Caretta and Roy Jones Jr.
IBA President Umar Kremlev wished athletes success, and Rasheda Ali — daughter of Muhammad Ali — addressed the participants.
The festival runs until 13 December.
