Trump Launches Trump TV After Clash with Major US Media Outlets

The administration of US President Donald Trump has launched its own video platform, Trump TV. The channel began with a recording of a Trump speech from two months earlier and is available through the White House YouTube channel and its live-streaming section.
Trump spokesperson Kaelan Dorr said Trump TV would provide “a direct stream of the administration’s biggest moments without censorship.” He said the platform would also feature material that the administration believes has not received sufficient coverage from traditional news outlets.
The launch came after a dispute between the White House and CNN, MS NOW and Politico. On September 18, Trump announced restrictions on journalists from the three organizations entering the White House, accusing them of spreading “fake news.” Reporters from the outlets were subsequently denied access.
Other major media organizations then suspended participation in the shared television pool covering presidential events in solidarity with the barred outlets.
