Trump: Russia and Ukraine Close to Agreement
US President Donald Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine are close to reaching a settlement agreement. According to him, a key step could be a personal meeting between the two leaders — Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump emphasized the importance of a pragmatic approach to negotiations, particularly ahead of the US midterm elections. He noted that emotions hinder deal-making.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine is interested in reaching a peace agreement.

The Kremlin has also expressed readiness for dialogue. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously stated that Moscow is open to talks, although the process is currently on hold for objective reasons.

The last round of trilateral talks mediated by the United States took place on February 17–18 in Geneva. The next meeting, scheduled for March 5 in Abu Dhabi, was postponed amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following US and Israeli strikes on Iran. A new date has not yet been announced.
