Turkic Investment Fund to Expand Financing for Joint Projects
Economy
Khurram Teshabaev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, took part in the third meeting of the Board of Governors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF). Representatives of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan attended the meeting, discussing ways to expand financing and advance joint investment projects.
The participants reviewed the Fund’s activities and identified priorities for its next stage. Discussions focused on increasing financing for investment projects, attracting additional resources and strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions. These efforts are intended to broaden the Fund’s financial capacity and support initiatives of shared interest to its member states.
Another key topic was the development of a pipeline of prospective projects. The areas under consideration included transport and logistics infrastructure, industrial cooperation, energy and support for entrepreneurship. Building a portfolio in these sectors could strengthen economic links between member countries and create more opportunities for cross-border investment. The announcement did not specify individual projects or potential financing volumes.
The meeting also addressed the Fund’s internal governance and operations. Participants discussed improving corporate governance, raising operational efficiency and clarifying the division of responsibilities among the Fund’s governing bodies. These measures are intended to strengthen the institution’s operating framework and improve the effectiveness of its financial instruments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants outlined further steps to develop the TIF’s activities and promote joint investment initiatives. Azerbaijan assumed the chairmanship of the Board of Governors until the conclusion of the next annual meeting. The Fund’s next phase will therefore focus on expanding its resource base, developing its project portfolio and improving governance mechanisms as well.
