Türkiye canceled import duties on a number of products of Uzbekistan

The decision to abolish customs duties applies, in particular, to products such as onions, peas (chickpeas) and plums.
According to the agreement on preferential trade concluded between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, customs duties were canceled when importing a number of goods from Uzbekistan.
The order on the application of tariff quotas for the import of certain types of goods originating from the Republic of Uzbekistan, prepared by the Ministry of Trade on the basis of a presidential decree, was published in the government's official gazette - Resmi Gazete.
Accordingly, within the framework of the Preferential Trade Agreement signed between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, tariff quotas have been regulated for the import of a number of goods originating from Uzbekistan.
In particular, the document provides for the abolition of customs duties on such Uzbek goods as shallots, peas (chickpeas) and plums. Within the framework of the tariff quotas under consideration, the customs duty on these goods will be equal to zero.
The decision and order will come into force on July 1, 2023.
