US Sends 15-Point Peace Plan to Iran
World
Washington has presented Tehran with a comprehensive proposal to end the Middle East conflict, offering sanctions relief in exchange for strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program.
The United States, through intermediaries in Pakistan, has delivered a 15-point peace plan to Iran, according to The New York Times.
There has been no official response from Tehran, and it remains unclear whether Israel supports the proposal.
According to reports, the plan requires Iran to fully abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions. This includes dismantling existing nuclear capabilities, banning uranium enrichment, and transferring all enriched materials to the IAEA.
The proposal also calls for shutting down and dismantling nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, as well as granting full access to IAEA inspectors.
Other conditions include ending support for proxy groups in the region, limiting Iran’s missile program, and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.
A one-month ceasefire is proposed to allow both sides to negotiate final terms.
In return, the U.S. offers full sanctions relief, assistance in developing a peaceful nuclear program, and a commitment not to reimpose sanctions.
The plan does not include demands for regime change or the release of political prisoners. Analysts suggest the terms may be difficult for Tehran to accept.
