New Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ashraf Khodjaev presented credentials to Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on 18 March. This is reported by Dunyo news agency.

The ceremony was held at the Lusail Palace in Doha. After the guard of honour went round, the Ambassador had an audience with the head of Qatar. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed sincere words of greetings and best wishes to the honourable President of Uzbekistan. He recalled with particular warmth his first visit to Uzbekistan last June, touring the historic city of Samarkand.

The Emir emphasised that relations between Qatar and Uzbekistan are developing very dynamically. He pointed to the huge potential for actively boosting cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

At the end of the conversation, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani wished the Uzbek ambassador every success in developing bilateral relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

It should be recalled that Ashraf Khodjaev arrived in Doha on 11 February as Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Qatar with residence in Doha.
