Uzbek Weightlifters Win 10 Medals in One Day at Asian Championships in Tashkent

Uzbekistan’s national weightlifting team won 10 medals in a single day at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent. The haul included three gold, six silver and one bronze medal.
The gold medals went to Marjona Abdumutalova in the youth 57kg category for the snatch, Ziyoda Khudoykulova in the youth 61kg category for the snatch, and Munisa Boltayeva in the junior 61kg category for the clean and jerk.
Uzbekistan also secured six silver medals. Zarina Abdullakhakova finished second in the junior 57kg snatch. Marjona Abdumutalova added silver medals in the youth 57kg clean and jerk and total, while Munisa Boltayeva took silver in the junior 61kg total.
Ziyoda Khudoykulova claimed two further silver medals in the youth 61kg clean and jerk and total. Munisa Boltayeva also won bronze in the junior 61kg snatch.
The Asian Championships are being held in Tashkent from August 7 to 14, 2026. According to the Asian Weightlifting Federation’s technical regulations, the competition features youth and junior age groups, with medals awarded in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
