Uzbekistan and Germany have agreed on German financing for eight projects in 2026–2027. The agreement was reached during intergovernmental negotiations on financial and technical cooperation held in Tashkent on October 7.

The Uzbek delegation was headed by Akram Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, while the German delegation was led by Christiane Amari, Head of the Division for Central Asia, Pakistan and Afghanistan at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The talks focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation for 2026–2027. The sides discussed projects and initiatives in the green economy, vocational education, technical regulation, energy, public administration and social protection.

Particular attention was given to practical mechanisms of financial and technical cooperation. During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on German financing for eight projects to be implemented within the framework of bilateral cooperation in 2026–2027.

The negotiations marked another stage in the development of Uzbekistan-Germany cooperation for development. The sides reviewed priority areas and identified sectors in which financial and technical support will contribute to the implementation of joint projects.

Following the talks, Uzbekistan and Germany signed the Protocol of Negotiations on Development Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The document formalized the results of the intergovernmental negotiations on financial and technical cooperation for 2026–2027, including the agreement on financing eight projects.

The agreed areas cover cooperation related to economic and social development, energy, vocational training, public administration and other priority sectors.

The agreement provides a framework for further practical cooperation between the two countries in 2026–2027, with the eight projects forming a key part of the bilateral development cooperation programme.
