Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of Matthias Vollert, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan. The sides discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and prospects for further expanding Uzbek-German cooperation.

Bakhtiyor Saidov described Germany as one of Uzbekistan’s reliable and longstanding partners in Europe. He noted that bilateral relations have been developing consistently through high-level visits and regular political dialogue.

Particular attention during the meeting was given to the timely and effective implementation of agreements reached at the highest level between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister wished Matthias Vollert success in his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, on June 17–18, 2026, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid an official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The talks focused on expanding practical cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, energy, transport, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and other areas.
