Uzbekistan and Iraqi Kurdistan Expand Business Partnership

Uzbekistan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq are taking another step toward strengthening trade and economic cooperation. The Uzbekistan–Iraqi Kurdistan Economic Forum provided a platform for discussing new investment initiatives, expanding exports, and establishing direct business-to-business partnerships.
Organized with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait, the forum brought together representatives of the chambers of commerce of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Halabja, and Kirkuk, along with more than 400 business representatives.
During the event, BMB HOLDING Director of Foreign Economic Relations Bobir Yakhyayev held a series of bilateral meetings with executives of leading Iraqi Kurdistan companies and business organizations. The discussions highlighted the holding's capabilities in agribusiness, food production and exports, international trade, and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The parties also explored opportunities to expand exports of Uzbek products to the Iraqi Kurdistan market, establish local distribution networks, develop consulting services for market entry, and strengthen cooperation in tourism and the HORECA sector.
The meetings concluded with agreements to prepare practical proposals for joint projects, deepen cooperation with the business community of Iraqi Kurdistan, and further expand BMB HOLDING's presence in export markets and international service sectors.
