Uzbekistan and Japan are strengthening cooperation in innovation and urban infrastructure, exploring the implementation of smart city technologies aimed at improving the management of urban environments.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Innovative Development held a meeting with a delegation from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism led by Kazuya Yamaguchi.

The talks took place within the framework of the Uzbekistan–Japan forum. The sides agreed that Uzbekistan will present potential smart city system projects that could be implemented in the country. These initiatives will be prepared and submitted to Japanese experts for further study and evaluation.

During the discussions, participants reviewed the current results of cooperation in science and innovation and outlined promising plans for future collaboration.

The Japanese delegation introduced advanced technologies for urban management, including digital monitoring systems, intelligent transport solutions and modern approaches to managing urban infrastructure.

The introduction of such technologies is expected to enhance the efficiency of city management, support infrastructure development and improve the quality of life for residents.
