Uzbekistan and Jordan Discuss New Areas of Trade and Economic Cooperation
Economy
On 26–27 October, an Uzbek delegation led by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a working visit aimed at expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation. During the trip, the Uzbek side held talks with representatives of Jordanian government bodies and leading companies, discussing prospects for collaboration across key sectors.
The talks covered industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, geology, mining and transport logistics. Discussions focused on identifying practical opportunities to develop bilateral ties and expand the participation of companies from both countries in joint projects.
A key part of the programme was an Uzbek-Jordanian roundtable organised jointly with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of the business communities of both countries took part. The meeting provided a platform to discuss potential areas of partnership and establish direct contacts between entrepreneurs.
Particular attention was paid to developing industrial cooperation, setting up joint production facilities, attracting investment and increasing bilateral trade. Jordanian partners were presented with Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities and the favourable conditions for doing business in the country. These priorities underscored the practical focus of the visit: identifying cooperation formats that could strengthen trade and production links.
Following the visit, the sides identified promising areas for cooperation and potential joint projects, and outlined further steps towards their practical implementation. The visit formed part of efforts to develop economic ties between Uzbekistan and Jordan. The source announcement did not specify investment amounts, project launch dates or agreements signed. The discussions also created a basis for continued engagement between the relevant institutions and companies as they consider the proposals raised during the meetings.
