Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Expand Business Cooperation Through New BMB HOLDING Projects
Business
BMB HOLDING and Kazakhstan plan to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation through new export destinations and joint projects. The issue was discussed at a meeting between Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Founders Board of BMB HOLDING, and Yeraly Tugzhanov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, on August 25.
The sides reviewed BMB HOLDING’s investment and export potential, as well as its projects in the agro-industrial sector, processing, logistics and tourism. Particular attention was given to increasing supplies of agricultural products grown and deeply processed by the holding’s enterprises to the Kazakh market and developing new export destinations.
In tourism, the sides agreed to develop reciprocal tourism packages aimed at increasing tourist flows between the two countries. They also discussed expanding the use of Za’faron-branded restaurants and hotels for visitors from Kazakhstan.
Another area of discussion was the potential use of natural BMB Za’faron products, grown in the Jizzakh region, within Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. Relevant research is expected to be conducted, which could subsequently provide a basis for joint production of biologically active supplements and pharmaceutical products.
The parties also considered investment initiatives involving deep wheat processing, the production of higher-value-added goods and their entry into third-country markets.
Bekzod Mamatkulov invited Yeraly Tugzhanov to visit the Jizzakh region and become familiar with BMB HOLDING’s enterprises. In turn, the ambassador invited a BMB HOLDING working group to visit Kazakhstan to study the country’s investment potential and identify new areas for business cooperation. The visit is planned for September.
Yeraly Tugzhanov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan on July 22, 2026.
