Uzbekistan and Switzerland Discuss New Joint Projects and Industrial Cooperation

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of Simone Petra Giger, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Uzbekistan. The sides discussed steps to strengthen political dialogue and expand economic cooperation. Simone Petra Giger has been appointed Switzerland’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, based in Tashkent.
The talks focused on expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, developing industrial partnerships and promoting new joint projects.
Bakhtiyor Saidov wished the new ambassador success in her diplomatic mission and reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to support efforts aimed at further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Switzerland.
Simone Petra Giger previously served as Switzerland’s ambassador to Ghana and completed a four-year diplomatic assignment there in 2026.
