Uzbekistan and UAE Expand Investment Agenda and Develop New Joint Projects

Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates are expanding investment cooperation and developing new areas for joint projects. On October 7, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov participated in the Investopia Bridge 2026 international forum and the “UAE - Uzbekistan: Connecting Capital with Opportunities” business roundtable.

The discussions focused on deepening economic partnership and launching new projects. Priority areas included energy, digital infrastructure and telecommunications, artificial intelligence, the financial sector, chemical industry, agriculture and food security, tourism, transport and logistics, as well as development.

Leading UAE companies and financial institutions, including Ghitha Holding, e&, Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, Mashreq Bank, Masdar, AMEA Power, Modon and Etihad Development Company, took part in the discussions. Participants were presented with promising projects in Uzbekistan, opportunities to participate in privatization processes, as well as infrastructure and technology initiatives. Particular attention was given to logistics and the creation of effective channels to increase mutual trade.

During his working visit, Laziz Kudratov held a series of meetings with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, as well as executives of major UAE companies.

Another part of the talks focused on improving institutional mechanisms for cooperation. The sides agreed to strengthen coordination between the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council and orient their work towards developing concrete initiatives.

Following the visit, further steps were outlined to advance promising projects involving government institutions, investment funds and businesses from both countries.
