Uzbekistan Appoints Its First Ambassador to Albania

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Baxtiyor Ibragimov (whose residence is in Vienna), presented his credentials to the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
During the meeting following the official ceremony at the Presidential Palace, prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Albania were discussed. Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and tourism.
The Albanian President highly praised the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Uzbekistan in recent years and their positive results.
Both sides confirmed their readiness to elevate bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level.
It is worth noting that Ambassador Baxtiyor Ibragimov had previously presented his credentials to Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in November 2023. Additionally, in 2023, he was accredited as Uzbekistan’s official representative to international organizations headquartered in Vienna, including the OSCE, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), and the IAEA.
