"Earthquake Preparedness Week" is being held in Uzbekistan. Residents of the regions of Uzbekistan have been given the necessary instructions on the action plan during an earthquake, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was reported that in the Tashkent, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Andijan regions, and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted training on the rules of movement and evacuation from buildings during an earthquake. These exercises, conducted as part of "Earthquake Preparedness Week," aimed to increase the population's knowledge and skills.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan will also take measures to strengthen control over construction and improve the seismic protection of high-rise buildings. In addition, the country will begin forming volunteer teams for rescue operations during strong earthquakes.
