The pavilion combines Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage with its modern capabilities in the space sector. Traditional Uzbek ornaments and a blue dome reflect Samarkand’s architectural identity. The display also highlights IAC-2028, which is planned to take place in Samarkand in 2028.

During the congress, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Uzcosmos Director Shuhrat Kadirov met with NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson. The sides discussed their current priorities in space, potential joint projects and ways to move bilateral cooperation towards practical implementation.

Uzcosmos and STAR.VISION signed a memorandum covering the development and testing of solutions based on “Samarkand 2028” hyperspectral satellite imagery. The cooperation will explore applications for hyperspectral data, research activities, the testing of new technologies and their potential commercialization.

The Uzbek delegation also met Clay Mowry, chief executive officer of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Discussions focused on preparations for IAC-2028 in Samarkand, the organization of the event and the use of international expertise.

Further meetings brought together Uzcosmos representatives and organizations including Vast, Aselsan, Nebex, Azercosmos, SUPARCO, the Spanish Space Agency, the Indian Space Research Organisation, Axiom Space, Planet and Hex20. Talks covered technology transfer, satellite projects, scientific and educational initiatives, knowledge exchange and workforce development.

Uzbekistan also joined an agreement aimed at advancing space cooperation among Turkic states. The head of Uzcosmos presented the country’s space initiatives at the Global Space Leaders Summit.

Uzbekistan’s participation in IAC-2026 is focused on broadening international partnerships, developing practical projects and preparing to host the congress in Samarkand in 2028.
