Uzbekistan Sends Nearly 200 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

Following the order of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in honor of the Navruz and Ramadan Eid holidays, another shipment of humanitarian aid, weighing nearly 200 tons, was delivered to Balkh province, Afghanistan. The aid package included flour, wheat, pasta, vegetable oil, and sugar. This was reported by the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration.
The essential food supplies were handed over to the Afghan side in the city of Hairatan, within the premises of the "Astras" company. The event was attended by the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatilla Irgashev, the Governor of Surkhandarya region, Ulugbek Qosimov, as well as officials from the Ministries of Defense, Transport, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, and Foreign Affairs, along with the Governor of Balkh province, Muhammad Yusuf Vafo, and representatives from both sides.
The humanitarian aid package included flour, wheat, pasta, vegetable oil, sugar, instant meals, red beans, and mung beans.
Additionally, a bilateral meeting was held in Mazar-i-Sharif to discuss future cooperation. During the discussions, special attention was given to the construction of the Imam Bukhari mausoleum in Afghanistan, a project supported by Uzbekistan.
Afghan officials expressed their gratitude to the President and the people of Uzbekistan for their assistance and extended their heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming Ramadan Eid, the report stated.
