Uzbekistan Strengthens Cybersecurity: New Departments in Government Agencies
Uzbekistan is taking measures to enhance cybersecurity and prevent cybercrime. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree approving the Uzbekistan Cybersecurity Strategy for 2026–2030.

From April 1, 2026, specialized cybersecurity departments will be established in the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Energy, and the State Tax Committee. These units will focus on protecting national information systems and implementing modern preventive measures against cyber threats.

Government agencies and organizations are required to allocate funds for cybersecurity from both extra-budgetary funds and annual budget allocations.

Additionally, the State Security Service (SSS) will organize competitions to identify vulnerabilities in national information systems with the involvement of independent experts. The events will be held on a dedicated electronic platform, helping to strengthen the resilience of the country’s critical resources.

These measures aim to create an effective system to combat cyber threats and to enhance trust in the country’s digital infrastructure.
