Uzbekistan plans to increase the number of foreign tourists to 20 million per year by 2030, the Tourism Committee has reported.

Uzbekistan Targets 20 Million Foreign Tourists a Year by 2030
Currently, the country receives around 11 million foreign visitors annually. Expanding the tourism sector is seen as a key element of the country’s long-term economic strategy.

Strategic goals also include increasing tourism service exports to more than $6 billion per year and raising tourism’s share of GDP from 3.5% to 7%.

The authorities expect to achieve these targets through infrastructure development, expansion of international air connectivity, digitalization of tourism services, and active promotion of Uzbekistan in global markets.
