Uzbekistan to Join Expanded BRICS+ Session in New Delhi

Uzbekistan will participate in the expanded BRICS+ session in New Delhi on September 13. The meeting will be held as part of the 18th BRICS Summit, scheduled for September 12–13.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said heads of delegations from 10 BRICS partner countries will join the leaders of BRICS member states. The official list of partner countries for the 2026 summit includes Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The expanded session will focus on the theme “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Stability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth.” Ushakov said BRICS continues to expand its international engagement, comparing the grouping to a football team: “Now the 11 BRICS members are a full-fledged football team that plays quite effectively on the international field.”
The session is also expected to bring together heads of executive bodies of the United Nations, World Health Organization and World Trade Organization, along with representatives of the New Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Reports on the work of the BRICS Business Council, BRICS Women’s Business Alliance and the New Development Bank will also be presented.
