Uzbekistan U18 National Team is a Three-Time Asia Cup Champion
Sport
Uzbekistan's youth national ice hockey team continues to rewrite sporting history. At the tournament in Bishkek, our compatriots demonstrated absolute dominance, securing the Asia Cup for the third consecutive time. Undefeated throughout the entire competition, the "ice squad" confirmed that Uzbekistan has firmly established itself as the premier hockey power in the region.
From April 27 to May 3, 2026, Bishkek served as the stage for a major triumph in Uzbek ice hockey. The Uzbekistan U18 national team confidently defended its title as the strongest team on the continent, claiming five victories in five matches. Particularly impressive were the crushing defeats of India (15:1) and Indonesia (13:0). In the final showdown against the host nation, Kyrgyzstan, the Uzbek players displayed remarkable grit, securing a 3:2 victory.
This achievement is a logical continuation of the "golden streak" that began in 2023 in Mongolia and continued in 2024 in Tashkent. Winning the Asia and Oceania Cup for the third time in a row highlights the systematic development of the sport under the auspices of the Uzbekistan Ice Hockey Federation.
The current year has been truly exceptional for the youth team: just two months ago, in March 2026, the squad earned gold medals at the World Championship in their division. Such high-level results on both the international and regional stages prove that the hockey school and training system established in the republic have reached a fundamentally new, world-class standard.
