The system automatically detects and tracks aerial targets using the YOLOv8 artificial intelligence algorithm and optical transmitters.

According to the specifications presented by the developers, ARGUS-SYS uses a 500-watt laser with a wavelength of 405 nm. The stated engagement range exceeds 1,000 metres, while the reported time required to affect a target is less than two seconds.

The development is intended to improve capabilities for countering unmanned aerial vehicles. Uzbekistan had previously reported the development of a device designed to capture drones.
