Uzbekistan’s Historic Debut at the Show Jumping World Championships

Uzbekistan made its debut at the show jumping World Championships with two riders competing at the same event. The competition was held in Aachen, Germany, as part of the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026.
Abdurakhmon Abdullaev riding Caballone and Bekzod Kurbanov riding Matts V.G. represented Uzbekistan at the championship. Their participation marked the country’s first appearance at the show jumping World Championships with two riders.
The show jumping programme consisted of three main competitions. The first qualifying round was held on August 19, followed by the team final and second individual qualifier on August 20–21. The individual final took place on August 23.
Aachen is one of the world’s major international equestrian venues. The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 brought together athletes from dozens of countries across six disciplines. According to the organisers, 799 athletes from 67 nations took part in the championships.
For Uzbek equestrian sport, the participation of Abdullaev and Kurbanov represented significant international experience and the country’s first two-rider appearance at the show jumping World Championships.
