President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory at the presidential election. This was reported by the press secretary of the head of state Sherzod Asadov.

The message of Shavkat Mirziyoyev notes that the high voter turnout and the results of the voting have once again clearly demonstrated the unconditional trust and strong support of the population for Vladimir Putin's political course and programme of socio-economic reforms.

The leader of Uzbekistan sincerely wished the President of Russia strong health, prosperity and great success in his state activity, and the people of Russia peace and prosperity.

According to the Russian Central Election Commission, Putin won 87.2% of the vote.

Nikolai Kharitonov of the CPRF had 4.2%, Vladislav Davankov of the New People party had 4%, and Leonid Slutsky of the LDPR had about 3.2% of the vote.

Preliminary voter turnout was 74.22%.

It should be reminded that the presidential election in Russia lasted three days for the first time - from 15 to 17 March.
