Washington Prepares Charges Against Cuba’s Leadership
According to The Washington Post, the U.S. Department of Justice has formed an interagency group tasked with analyzing options for potential charges against officials of Cuba.

The report notes that representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury are also part of the group, which may indicate that additional economic restrictions and stronger sanctions against Havana are being considered.

Potential charges could relate to several areas, including immigration policy, economic activities and other aspects of relations between the two countries.

Earlier, former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States intends to determine its future course of action toward Cuba after the completion of the military operation against Iran.

Analysts say the creation of the task force could signal preparations in Washington for a new stage of pressure on the Cuban leadership.
