Technology

Apple will unveil its iPhone 15 lineup on Tuesday at the company's annual September event and could make the biggest change to the phone's design in 11 years.

What to expect from tomorrow's Apple presentation?
The presentation, under the slogan "Wonderlust", will traditionally take place at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California, and will be broadcast live on its website.

As you would expect, there is a lot of speculation around this presentation from industry experts and speculation from insiders. We have collected the most plausible information about the upcoming release.

Big change in charging

Apple previously switched its iPads and MacBooks to USB-C charging, but now may be the time for the company to finally make changes to the iPhone.

"This may be the biggest change to iPhone design in years, but it's really hardly a dramatic move," said Ben Wood, an analyst at CCS Insight.

iPhone 15 features

• The entire iPhone 15 lineup will feature Dynamic Island, an interactive home for alerts, notifications, and various controls that replaces the notch at the top of the screen.

• iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models will feature a periscope lens that provides greater optical zoom and a titanium body that will make the device up to 15% lighter and thinner.

• Pro models will also get Apple's latest A17 chip, the first with 3nm technology.

• The lineup will also feature a variety of new colors.

Vision Pro update

In June, Apple unveiled Vision Pro, a mixed reality headset that the company says will usher in a new era of "augmented reality." Yoram Wurmser, an analyst at Insider Intelligence, believes the company will tease by showing off new features to build excitement ahead of the 2024 launch. (It's also possible that Apple will announce a launch date).

Apple Watch Series 9

The company typically unveils its newest Apple Watch alongside the iPhone every year, so it's likely that we'll see the debut of the Apple Watch Series 9 and perhaps its Ultra 2 smartwatch.

What not to expect

With the new iPhone expected to be the focus, many analysts don't expect Apple to release new iPads or Macs until October.
