Witkoff’s Sixth Trip — and Meeting With Putin As Soon As Today
World
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff has arrived in Moscow for another meeting with Vladimir Putin — his sixth visit this year. For the first time, he is accompanied by Jared Kushner, signaling the Trump administration’s intent to accelerate peace negotiations. The central issue remains territorial questions.
Witkoff landed at Vnukovo Airport, where he was received by the Russian president’s special representative, Kirill Dmitriev, according to Russian media.
Kushner’s presence came as a surprise: his participation had not been officially confirmed until the very last moment. Sources quoted by CNN say Donald Trump views Kushner as someone capable of closing complex deals.
Earlier in Florida, Witkoff, Kushner, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks with the Ukrainian delegation, discussing a proposed peace plan. According to media reports, the territorial issue again dominated the agenda as the most sensitive and contested part of the draft.
Witkoff’s upcoming meeting with Putin is expected in the coming days and may determine whether the sides move closer to a finalized peace agreement.
