“World of Arts”: Tashkent to Host Four Days of Russian Music, Cinema, Ballet and Art

The II World of Arts Russian Arts Festival will take place in Tashkent from October 1 to 4, 2026. Over four days, leading Russian theatre, music and dance groups, filmmakers and artists will present different areas of the arts. The festival dates and programme have been confirmed by the organizers and official cultural venues.
The festival is organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan together with Russia’s Ministry of Culture, the Centre for Film Festivals and International Programmes, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Khakassia, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and Rosconcert. Foundation chair Gayane Umerova said the project promotes cultural dialogue and professional exchange between the two countries.
The programme will open on October 1 with Zurab Tsereteli’s “More Than Life” exhibition at the Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan. The exhibition will feature the artist’s paintings, sculptures and enamel works and remain open until December 1. At the opening, Vasily Tsereteli will donate one of the artist’s paintings to the Centre for Contemporary Art in Tashkent.
The same day, the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace will host the “Opera Masterpieces” gala concert, featuring Russian soloists accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan under conductor Alibek Kabdurahmanov.
October 2 will feature a Cinema Day marking the 90th anniversary of Stanislav Govorukhin. On October 3, the Kün Suzy Khakas Dance Ensemble will perform at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre. The festival will conclude on October 4 with a performance by young artists of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
The programme will also include educational activities, including contemporary art intensives and ballet masterclasses for Uzbekistan’s professional and educational communities.
