The Central Asian Championship among juniors (U17), which started on June 20 in Chirchik, as reported by the Weightlifting Federation of Uzbekistan.

It is reported that more than 100 of the strongest wrestlers of the region took part in this year’s competition.

According to the final results, the members of the national team of Uzbekistan won 22 gold, 16 silver and 7 bronze medals in this competition, totalling 45 medals.

The Turkish national team, which has 9 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals, and a total of 16 medals, took the second place.

The national team of neighbouring Kazakhstan, which collected 8 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, finished in the top three overall.

In addition, 34 members of Kyrgyzstan (3 gold, 10 silver and 21 bronze), 13 members of Turkmenistan (11 silver, 2 bronze) and 7 members of Tajikistan (7 bronze) won and participated in the competition.

It should be noted that this year’s prise fund of the Central Asian Championship was 16,000 US dollars, and the winners were awarded 500 (gold medal), 300 (silver medal) and 200 (bronze medal) respectively.

Among the boys, Nadir Jorayev from Uzbekistan, and Ksenia Pozorova from Kazakhstan among the girls were named the best athletes of the competition.
